My name is Runar, and I run nordiccardgames.com. I spent a lot of time in Lofoten in northern Norway growing up, where card games were just part of everyday life. There was always a deck of cards around, whether at home, at grandparents' houses or visiting neighbours. The game everyone played was Amerikaner, and we would sit around the table for hours.
These days I live in Trondheim with my family. With more kids in the house, card games are something we play regularly. At the dinner table, at the cabin, during holidays. All you really need is a deck of cards and a bit of time.
My favourite games are Amerikaner and Idiot. Amerikaner because it takes me straight back to Lofoten. Idiot because anything can happen, no matter who is playing. Both work just as well with kids as with adults.
I made this site because I wanted a straightforward place with card game rules that match how we actually play. I also enjoy building games, so digital versions of the games will keep appearing here. Little by little as time allows. Olsen was the first game I made as an iOS app. Check out the online games and apps, maybe I have already made your favourite.
